June 2023
Well it has been a few drinks between posts. The club has gone through a bit of a rough trot with significant flood damage over the past couple of years but we are rebuilding! Thanks to the brilliant work of the committee, Logan city council, and support from Cr Miriam Stemp, we have new shaded pitts, power restored and the canteen back in action.
Fat Boyz is making a return to a regular programmed time slot on a Saturday morning - Bacon, Egg, Sausage and Salad rolls. Volunteer Chef-o's wanted. If you can help, please pop your name down on the sheet in the club house.
Once we have established ourselves, expect to see a few events on the calendar. Looking forward to welcoming our friends from surrounding clubs.
A few of us have been bringing back the fun. What started out with 2 planes has quickly gown - and we are having a blast. Nothing fancy, just a Scanner 'type' of plane for some close formation flying, low fly by's and plenty of egging each other on. Looking forward to welcoming more of our members joining in.
Reminder: Membership renewals due 30 June 2023.

Congratulations to Lukas and Jayden on achieving their Gold Wings. A fantastic achievement boys, well done. A special shout out to fellow club member: Jeff Linton, who also fills the role as State Flying Instructor with the MAAQ. His support ensures all the administrative side is all handled seamlessly when instructors send in the completed wing test forms. He also handles the printing of the certificates and sending out the wings to the clubs. As Instructors, we have the awesome job of presenting those certificates and wings - bringing plenty of smiles all round. :)
2019 F3A World Championships - Italy

Cooloola Classic - IMAC Competition weekend...
On the 24-26 May, 15 LARCS members travelled to the Tin Can Bay Model Flying club to compete in the Cooloola Classic IMAC Competition. It was a fantastic event with a lot of fun had by all. To top it off, our members secured 6 of the trophies across the classes. If you've ever wanted to have a go, there is nothing stopping you! You don't need a big expensive composite model to get involved. A .46 powered Scanner can be quite competitive (it helped me grab 3rd place in basic) ;) A big thank you to the organisers, ASAA, competitors and the Tin Can Bay Model Flying club for putting on an awesome weekend!
